Established by Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, IUC Press is a comprehensive and dynamic international publishing house dedicated to supporting scientific and cultural production through the publication of both academic and literary works.
The Press publishes journals and books across a wide range of disciplines, including basic sciences, engineering, medicine, health sciences, education, social sciences, forestry, sports sciences, nanotechnology, and biotechnology.
As the publisher of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa’s peer-reviewed journals, IUC Press provides an open-access information-sharing model that enables universal and free online access to its publications. In addition, certain paid publications are also included within the extensive portfolio of IUC Press.
The flagship initiative of IUC Press in the field of book publishing is the “100 Books for the 100th Anniversary of the Republic” project, all of which were published as open-access works. Launched in 2023, the centennial year of the Republic, and successfully completed, this project has enriched both academic literature and the nation’s cultural heritage with numerous valuable contributions.
IUC Press aims to publish works that appeal not only to the academic community but also to professional circles and the general public. Prof. Dr. Emine Elif GÜZEL MEYDANLI

Prof. Dr. Emine Elif Güzel Meydanlı was born in Ankara in 1977. She graduated from TED Ankara College in 1994 and from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2000. After completing her residency in the Department of Histology and Embryology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2005, she received training in Assisted Reproductive Technology at the Hacettepe University IVF Center.
After starting her position in the Department of Histology and Embryology at Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine in 2006, she conducted scientific research for approximately 1.5 years at Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, with a TUBITAK BİDEB scholarship. She was appointed Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2018 at Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine.
Between 2014 and 2018, she served on the Board of Directors of the Turkish Electron Microscopy Society, and between 2018 and 2019, she was a member of the Advisory Board of TUBITAK ARDEB, Health Sciences Research Support Group.
Prof. Dr. Güzel Meydanlı has served in various positions at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, including Member of the Curriculum Development Commission, Chair of Course Boards, and First-Year Coordinator. Between 2018 and 2022, she was a Member of the Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Academic Promotion and Appointment Commission, and from 2020 to 2024, she served as Vice Dean of the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. She currently holds the positions of Vice Rector of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Associate Editor of the Cerrahpaşa Medical Journal, and Director of SABİOTEK.
Her scientific research focuses on reproductive biology and endocrinology, cellular stress, and biomaterials-bioengineering. Prof. Dr. Emine Elif Güzel Meydanlı has many articles and projects published in national and international indexed journals in her field.

Melek Nihal Esin serves as a faculty member in the Chair of Public Health Nursing at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing. She completed her master's and doctoral education at Istanbul University. She received her Associate Professorship in 2010 and her Professorship in 2015. Her doctoral thesis focused on “Determining and Improving Health Behaviors of Workers in the Industrial Sector.” Her main areas of interest and research include public health and nursing, occupational health/occupational health nursing, health behaviors/health promotion, nursing research, and academic publishing.
Dr. Esin has supervised master's and doctoral theses related to her fields of expertise and has numerous publications indexed in international and national citation indices, citations, books, conference presentations, and panel discussions, along with awards for the best presentations at international congresses. She is the chief editor of the “Florence Nightingale Journal of Nursing” and the managing editor of the “European Journal of Occupational Health Nursing.” Dr. Esin is a board member of the European Region Federation of Occupational Health Nurses and a member of its education working group. She also serves on various committees including the Disciplinary Board of the Rectorate, the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Board of the Rectorate, the Management Board of the Graduate School of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, and as the Chair of the Public Health Nursing Department and Dean of the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing.

Muammet Baştuğ graduated from the classroom teaching program of Selçuk University Faculty of Education in 2004. He completed his master’s degree in Classroom Teaching at the same university’s Institute of Social Sciences in 2007. He obtained his doctorate in Classroom Teaching from Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences in 2012. He received his Associate Professorship in 2015 and Professorship in 2021 in the field of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training (Classroom Teacher Education).
Between 2004 and 2012, he held various roles in schools under the Ministry of National Education. From 2012 to 2017, he worked in the Department of Classroom Education at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Education, during which he served as Department Chair, Deputy Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences, and Assistant Dean. Between 2017 and 2023, he was employed at the Classroom Education Department of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education. During this time, he held various positions, including Chair of the Primary Education Department, Chair of the Classroom Education Department, Member of the Graduate Education Institute Board, and Chief Editor of HAYEF: Journal of Education. Since 2023, he has continued his role as a faculty member in the Classroom Education Department at Yıldız Technical University and will also serve as Dean of the Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa as of May 28, 2024.
He specializes primarily in literacy, reading comprehension, and primary education, with six published articles in SCI/SCI-E journals, 12 scientific books, and chapter authorships. In addition to this academic output, he has published over 50 articles in various national and international journals and has presented at numerous prestigious conferences. As a scientist who expands his academic knowledge across a broad spectrum, he continues to engage in editorial and peer-review responsibilities in qualified journals. He also participates as a speaker in training and meetings related to both teacher education and parent education, sharing his knowledge and experiences. He maintains his mentorship in academia through numerous completed and ongoing master’s and doctoral thesis supervision.
He has taken on expert roles in projects supported by the Ministry of National Education, the European Union, and various universities, playing an active role in curriculum development and in-service training within these projects.

Ali TİLBE, born in 1971 in Tokat-Niksar, completed his undergraduate studies in 1991 at Atatürk University, Faculty of Arts, Department of French Language and Literature. While working as a Research Assistant at the same university, he earned his Master's degree in 1994 and his PhD in 2000, specializing in French Culture and Literature. From 2000 to 2009, he served as an Assistant Professor. In 2009, he founded the Department of French Language and Literature in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University, and assumed the role of department chair during this period. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011 and to Professor in 2017. Since 2022, he has been affiliated with İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education, Department of French Language Education, where he currently serves as the Head of the Division. From 2002 to 2004, he conducted postdoctoral research at Sorbonne University-INALCO; from 2014 to 2015, he carried out postdoctoral work at Regent’s University London. He was a visiting lecturer at Manouba University, Tunisia, from 2005 to 2007. In his undergraduate and graduate curricula, he teaches courses on French literature, literary criticism and theory, and French as a Foreign Language (FFL). In 2019, he published a research-critical work titled Yeniötesi Yazında Özkurmaca (Autofiction in Postmodern Literature) and in 2025, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Topaloğlu, titled Beur Literature and Verlan Language - Readings of Francophone Migrant Novels in the Context of Conflict and Acculturational Methodology. He has served as editor-in-chief and author for numerous books and journals. He has participated in organizing and serving on the scientific committees of many scholarly events, including The Migration Conference, a UK-based series, and has delivered conference papers. He currently holds several leadership roles: he is the Director of İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa School of Foreign Languages; the Director of Library and Documentation Department at the İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa; Chair of the Executive Board of İUC University Press Publishing House; and Editor-in-Chief of Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education - HAYEF: Journal of Education. TİLBE continues his research in the fields of contemporary French novel, autofiction, autobiographical writing, the sociology of literature, migration literature, postmodern minimalist novels, and foreign language pedagogy. He is married with two children.

Prof. Dr. Hasret Demircan Yardibi graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Istanbul University in 1999. She was appointed as a Research Assistant in the Department of Biochemistry at the same faculty in 2000, became an Associate Professor in 2010, and was promoted to Professor in 2015. Hasret Demircan Yardibi has publications in international peer-reviewed journals and numerous citations to her work.
She has participated in many nationally and internationally funded projects as both a principal investigator and a co-researcher. She has served in several academic and administrative positions, including Founding Board Member and Deputy Director of the Istanbul University Technology Transfer Center, Head of the Central Research Laboratory at Istanbul University, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Head of the Department of Basic Sciences, Chair of the Department of Biochemistry, Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Module at Istanbul TTO, Coordinator of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa (IUC) Journals, Advisor to the Rector responsible for improving the parameters of the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index, Academic Advancement, Social and Scientific Projects, and Director of the IUC Nanotechnology & Biotechnology Institute.
Prof. Dr. Hasret Demircan Yardibi currently serves as Chair of the IUC Rectorate Committee for Academic Promotion and Appointment Criteria and as Deputy Chair of the IUC Press Executive Board.

Dr. Batuhan Güvemli graduated from FMV Işık University's Business Administration Department in 2002, completed his master's degree in 2004 at Marmara University in the Department of Accounting and Finance, and received his doctorate in the same field in 2008. He became an Associate Professor in 2013 and Professor in 2018. Dr. Güvemli worked as an auditor in Istanbul between 2002 and 2008. He has national and international books, publications in international refereed journals, and many citations to these publications. He has been involved in numerous projects, both as a coordinator and researcher, funded internally and externally. He served on the Board of Directors and the Commission Board at Trakya University Technology Research and Development Application Center. Also, he took on the role of AACSB Accreditation Coordinator at Trakya University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Batuhan Güvemli, a member of the American Accounting Association (AAA), Academy of Accounting Historians (AAH), and the Istanbul Chamber of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Advisors (İSMMMO), is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Vocational School of Social Sciences, Head of the Department of Accounting and Tax Applications, and also serves as the editor of the Accounting and Financial History Research and Journal of Business Administration and Social Studies. In addition, he is the President of the Oktay Güvemli Accounting and Financial History Research Foundation.

Turgay Akbulut was born in 1965 in Olur district of Erzurum, Turkey. He completed his secondary education at Olur High School and graduated from the Department of Forest Industry Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University (K.T.Ü.) in 1986. He fulfilled his military service as a reserve officer between 1987 and 1988. In 1989, he joined Istanbul University, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Industry Engineering as a Research Assistant. He completed his Master's degree in 1991 and his Ph.D. in 1996 at the Istanbul University Institute of Science.
In 1997, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor, obtained the title of Associate Professor in 1999, and became a full Professor in October 2005. He continues to serve as a faculty member in the same department.
Turgay Akbulut has held various institutional and sectoral responsibilities, such as being a member of the Advisory Board at TÜBİTAK Agricultural, Forestry and Veterinary Research Group between October 2009 and October 2010. He also served as a member of the Sector Committee for Wood Works, Paper, and Paper Products affiliated with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. From September 2010 to January 2013, he served as the Vice Dean of the Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry.
He has been an advisor to the TOBB Forest Products Sector Assembly and served as the Head of the Department of Forest Industry Engineering at Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry (2016-2017) and as the Dean of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Forestry (2017-2024).

Semra Özdemir received her Ph.D. from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biophysics, in 2004. She initiated her professional career at Istanbul University as a research assistant in 1993, attained the rank of associate professor in 2009, and has held the position of professor since 2014. From 2013 to 2019, she served as the Deputy Director of Istanbul University's Institute of Health Sciences and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Graduate Education Institute. Currently, she is a member of the Coordination Unit for Scientific Research Projects (BAP) and holds the role of vice chairman in the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. In 2023, Semra Özdemir was appointed as the Director of IUC Vocational School of Health Services. Her contributions encompass numerous national and international publications, authoring books, as well as delivering oral and poster presentations within the realm of biophysics.

Esra Özcebe is an accomplished academic professional with a distinguished career as a professor at IUC University, department of Audiology. With a doctorate in Educational Audiology and over a decade of experience in higher education, She began her career as a faculty staff in 1993. She worked on the evaluation, training, consulting and therapy services in the field of speech, language and voice disorders from 1993, where she has made significant contributions to both teaching and research in the field of Audiology and Speech and Language Pathology. She made studies in the field of children with language and speech disorders at Philadelphia Children's Seashore House, adult language and speech disorders at the University of Pennsylvania and Maggee Rehabilitation Hospital in the United States. She worked as a fellow in professional on voice care at the American Institute Voice and Ear in the United States between May 1997- January 1998. She had been as a visiting faculty member in Harvard University MEEI for 1 month at 2014. She founded the Department of Speech and Language Therapy, Hacettepe University at 2013. Currently, She is positioned at head of Department of Audiology at Istanbul Univerrsity-Cerrahpaşa. Further expanding my academic horizons and collaborating with esteemed colleagues on cutting-edge projects in both audiology and speech language pathology. She has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment for students. Her research endeavors have resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences, showcasing her expertise in advancing the understanding of foundations in voice therapy.

Burcu Onat holds the title of Professor and completed her graduate studies in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). She also completed her master's degree at ITU Institute of Science and Technology in 1998. She earned her doctoral degree in 2004 from the Department of Environmental Engineering at Istanbul University. Between 1995 and 2000, she worked as a research assistant at Istanbul University. From 2000 to 2003, she worked as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Engineer at the Power Plant Project in Baku, Azerbaijan. Since 2006, she has been working at the Department of Environmental Engineering at Istanbul University. Her scientific interests include air pollution, air quality modeling, emission control, indoor air quality, and traffic-related emissions. From June to December 2013, she conducted research at the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham, UK, as a Research Fellow. She has participated in numerous national and international projects on urban air quality, traffic emissions, and heavy metal pollution in the air. She has 36 articles indexed in SCI and has made oral and poster presentations at over 150 national and international scientific events.
